Random Afternoon Question

When you guys visit a blog, do you care if they have a blogroll? If so, how important is it to you?

The reason I ask is because my blogroll has been in limbo for a few weeks. I can't add to or delete from my current one, and I've been trying to keep up with my blog reading using both the blog roll and Google Reader.

I am contemplating doing away with my blogroll and just access your blogs from my GR. However, I know that when I'm reading your blogs, I like to look and see what new blogs I can find on your blogrolls. I shudder to think why I do this as I'm barely managing to keep up with the ones I currently stalk.... LOL!!! A glutton for punishment, that's what I am. ;)

I look at all the blogs I follow in Google Reader. It's really easy to just click on the title of the blog from there which will take you out to the actual blog. I just find it easier to do it all from one place.

I actually read via GR, so the blogroll isn't that important to me. I visit when I want to comment and occasionally find new blogs via someone's blogroll, but lately I've found that the TUSAL and WIPocalypse have a few hundred blogs I've never encountered.

And I hear you on stalking way more blogs than is probably healthy. ALthough probably not as many as some. I think I'm at about 480 right now. Mostly cross stitch, with a couple of other needlecraft that I can't do!

I will scroll through blog rolls to see if there are any that I might like to check out -- that's how I found this one, in fact! But the lack of a blog roll doesn't deter me from visiting the blog.

What is a blogroll? (I guess that answers whether I care if a blog has one.)

I use GR for getting through all the blogs I follow, I like stalking other peoples blog rolls for new blogs though :D

I'm the same, I follow my blogs through Google Reader.
I do look at other people's blog rolls for interesting headlines but it doesn't bother me if there isn't one.
I try follow all my followers so I see the role of the blog roll as advertising for them rather than a tool for me.
I have not been able to aadd or delete anyone for a while either.

I look at blogrolls to see if there is something new that I haven't looked at, but not having one doesn't stop me from reading a blog.

It doesn't worry me either way, I usually can't keep up with the blogs I already follow and tend to just jump to a post that interests me :D

I live for blogrolls...they are what have brought us together. LOL If it wasn't for the blogrolls, I would not be following most of the wonderful creative people I do now. I will be the oddball here, and give a shout out for the blogroll. LOL

I do read most blogs through Google Reader - and like you, I feel like I have a gazillion already! But, when I do go to a blog, I have a tendency to at least scan the list to see what else is out there. It must be frustrating to not be able to do anything with yours, but I'd hate to see you do away with it!!!

Truthfully I like the blogrolls. I've found many awesome blogs just scrolling through the blogrolls on other peoples blogs.

This is really bad, but I always forget about blogrolls, both on my own blog and on others! I do find new blogs when I remember they exist, but I need to work on that! o_o

Odd ball here too! While I tend to read blogs through GR and visit the site to comment, I do like Blog rolls!

I am a real sticky beak so being able to see who/what others follow/read is fodder for my curiosity! Like most of us blog rolls are how I found out about pretty much every blog I read....

But I do think that it is a personal thing... and trying to remember if I have added a new blog to my blog roll becomes one more thing to worry about!! But I still have my blog rolls and fingers crossed they are up to date!!

I use google reader but like most I am always interested to see who other people follow and have followed others through this method. I like it too when the blogroll has stitchy and non-stitchy blogs. But I think I tried to change it once and it didn't want to play :( Its up to you! I think because you host IHSW that most people can follow new blogs through checking out participants, so in your case you probably don't need it.

I'm having the same problem at the moment. Can't get it to work at all. I think when I was new to blogging I used other people's blog roles to see what else was out there, but I don't really use it any more!

I love having a blog roll and seeing other people's. I know that blogger is being a pain - I am trying to redo mine in groups, but it is taking time and I am behind on my blog reading.

I do like blog rolls as I love being able to find new and interesting people to follow. It wouldn't prevent me from reading someone's blog if they didn't have one.

None of both, just your email are MORE than enough ROFL!!!!

I read all my blogs through GR, and like you, I enjoy seeing blogrolls, but can't keep up with the ones I currently follow.

I follow blogs through my Google Reader but I do also find blogs through blog rolls. If a blog doesn't have a blog roll it doesn't deter me from visiting and reading though.

I haven't been able to add any blogs to my blog roll for ages now. You'd think blogger would fix it!

I use Google Reader as well.

As you know, I'm a GR kind of girl ;) heheheh I really don't pay attention to the blogrolls.. I don't have one and it's not something that catches my eye when I'm reading other blogs...

I'm not using Google reader so I guess for me blogroll is important. I like fvisiting the other's blogs but I can't say I particluary care if they have a blogroll displayed on their place or not. If something catches my eye, I click it. I've been meaning to display a blogroll on my place for some time now, motly because I think all the blogs I follow are awesome and everyone should go and see them. But I didn't get some things about the gadget and since I'm too lazy to research it, I haven't put one yet *feeling like a bad person*

I do most all of my blog reading using GR. My computer is old enough that if a blog has a lot of graphics, it freezes up! Guess it's time for a new one :-)

That's how I used to find the blogs I wanted to read was the blog roll, and I still occasionally check them on other blogs, but at last count, I think I have over 590 blogs through GR!!!

I use Google Reader but do go to the blogs to leave comments. I TRY not to add new blogs as I can't keep up with the ones I have now. But every once in a while I might catch one on someones Blog roll that sounds interesting.

I used to care when I was trying to get up a list to follow as it gave blogs that were active but I haven't looked at one for a while because I have over 300 blogs that I follow so I don't really need more!

You're not alone Joysze xD
I'm having exactely the same problem eheheh xD and like you don't know what is the best solution... since I love to get more blogs to read from all the blogrolls (I can't keep up with them... but hey... I'm a stalker xD)so i think I should share the ones I follow... to give other stalkers the same opportunity they give to me :D
