Almost a Butterfly

I promised Anne a Saturday SAL but didn't quite make it. Ended up going to get our eyes checked which threw our whole day out of whack. Nothing the matter, just routine, but a 12:30 appointment didn't get us seen till 1:15. Coupled with dilation, getting new glasses, yada yada, we didn't get out of there till almost 4... and had our first meal of the day. :S

The optometrist said that I was an "interesting" case. ROFL!!! We all know that the "interesting" word used that way is never good thing. ;) My prescription is so low and though all that needed correcting was my astigmatism, I'm straining my eyes when I'm reading and on the computer. I told the doc, I only ever use my current (15 year old pair) for stitching and watching movies.

After it was all said and done, I walked away with two new pairs of glasses on order: one for stitching, and the other for distance. (It was buy 1, get 1 free, and hubby didn't need new glasses. YAY for me!!!) The stitching pair are soooooooo light, they feel like air. The movie pair has flowers on the side. *giggle*

By the time we got home from lunner (new made up word for lunch and dinner), groceries, and chores, we were both sporting headaches from the dilation and sun. Needless to say, I wasn't about to stitch under those occasion, especially not over 1.

So, Sunday was my 'SAL with Annie' day. I even told hubby 'no' to D3. *gasp* I KNOW!!!! I couldn't finish the yellow butterfly like I wanted, but there's not much left. Maybe another 3 or 4 colors and then backstitching. (Pic is bad. Sorry about that... cloudy today.)

Hello Joysze

Gorgeous butterfly and so delicate - is it one over one?
I've just tried that with my current project and do like the look of it.
Yay for new specs!

New stitching glasses?! Now you can start some speed-stitching ;o)
The butterfly is lovely. And you still have to do the backstitching.

DH and I did the same thing on Saturday, we had our eye exams too. We both had dilation and ordered new glasses. It's amazing my astigmatism improved but my nearsightedness got worse. Didn't you and hubby get the plastic sunglasses to help with the brightness, they are so stylish. NOT!

Love Lunner -- It is my favorite Saturday meal.

Great news about the new lens. I am sure they will help at least a little, and look gorgeous.

Beautiful butterfly and great stitching!

I have a pair of glasses for distance and one for the computer, but I read and stitch without any glasses at all. I was silly and got purple frames for my computer glasses, since I only wear them at home anyway!

The butterfly is looking beautiful! Great job! And I need to get glasses...not so much for stitching as for the computer that I stare at for hours every day. I've just been too lazy to go!

Oh, if only I could just wear correction for stitching - says one interesting eye case to another (I have keratoconus). But the butterfly is finally coming together!

YES! I'm glad Anne got you stitching again! GO ANNE! The butterfly is beautiful. I wish I had glasses just for stitching, but, alas, I must wear mine full time. Which is why I have contacts (and severe, severe astigmatism). Yee. Haw.

Lovely butterfly!

I met an eye doctor recently. I told her what my prescription was. (-16 and -18) She said, "Wow! I've heard of people with prescriptions that bad, but I've never actually seen one!" Comforting, eh?

That butterfly is GORGEOUS! Hmmm, that's how tiny the Hummingbirds are going to be when I get that going, huh? I should probably schedule an eye-doctor visit before then, see if need to graduate from my "cheaters" to actual prescription lenses :) Any excuse to go see my hot Indian doc :)

Love the butterfly! No to D3?!? Does that require alerting the media? LOL! New specs are always fun (at least I think so)
