December IHSW Report

I've really loved writing down dates this month--12/4/12, 12/12/12, 12/19/12... What does that have to do with the price of eggs, you ask? Nothing... it just popped into my brain and the fingers went with it... yeeeeeeahh..... LOL!!! How were your IHSW weekends? I'm looking forward to seeing your BLOG POSTS and gorgeous pics. :D I had yet another pitiful IHSW showing. At the rate I'm going, I might as well just back virtual cookies and send them out as the IHSW host. :S I did stitch some, but it's a small, pathetic "some." So here's the new start I mentioned, but don't let it fool you as the weekend's progress was only the top part and not the entire thing. The fabbie color is off in the picture above. Here's a truer color match, although the greens are a bit more pale and mossy than teal. My friend, Brenda, sent me this gorgeous thing, SMF Belfast "Merfolk's Mom," a couple of years ago and I finally found the perfect d

Some IHSW Company

Before I get to the subject matter at hand, I want to say a huge THANK YOU for your support in my last post. *HUGS* They mean the world to me and once I'm done with the recital tomorrow, I'll be spending quite a bit of time in the email world. :D Since this is our last IHSW of 2012, and we might get lonesome hermitting and stitching, I thought that the least I could do was supply some hunk pictures. ;) As it happens, hubby and I just came back from watching The Hobbit in its high frame rate and 3D version. What an AWESOME movie!! There was so much back story and tie-ins with the Lord of the Rings trilogy that it made the nerd me in twirl around with joy. Needless to say, we'll be watching it again! But, I digress because... ...amidst the beautiful soaring music, stunning scenery, and great acting, the king of the dwarfs, Thorin, emerged--battle-honed, tough, sexy, and four feet tall! Of course this meant that I very happily sacrificed some stitching (and * choke * D3)

2012's Final IHSW

Helloooo everyone!! It's been a long while. Life has thrown a few things our way. Without going into too much detail, I find myself with some free time on my hands as I was laid off. Don't worry, everything is ok. I find this a blessing in disguise as I've been needing to take a break. So, apart from teaching, I've used the last week to just relax and basically not do anything. ;) I'm back though, and even have a new start (more about that in a later post). For now, it's our final IHSW of the year! Can you believe it? I think we will keep this ongoing for 2013. What do you guys think? I won't have too much time this weekend, though. My students are having their Winter Recital this Saturday, so that day is pretty much shot. Sunday, we have to go to a Christmas party in the evening, but I'll squeeze some stitching time in. :D Oh.... and who's excited about The Hobbit??? We have tickets to go see it on Friday. :D Let's close off 2012 with a

November IHSW Report

Helloooooo everyone!!! First of all, welcome to my new followers! *hugs* I hope you enjoy your stay here. Secondly, to my long-suffering followers, thanks for sticking by me through all the gaming and lack of posts. Feel free to kick my a** anytime. ;) How was your IHSW?? I hope yours went better than mine as I only managed to stitch a few hours on Saturday. I can't wait to check out your blogs!! (For a list of IHSW'ers please CLICK HERE .) Friday was hubby's birthday, so we took the day off and went out for brunch and to watch the new Bond movie, Skyfall which was fantastic!!! Saturday saw the fruition of the fourth butterfly (YAY!!) minus the backstitching (BOO!!!). LOL! Sunday was cleaning and cooking day. Throw in some Diablo 3 at night, and it's time for the work week. Why do weekends go by so fast and work days crawl by so slowly??! Next blog post will feature Busch Garden pictures. Till then, have a fantastic week!!! What's that you say? Picture

IHSW November

Helloooooooo out there!!! So sorry for the long silence (again!!). I just happened to glance over to my wall calendar and noticed that it's IHSW this weekend!!!! (Wow... I'm using a lot of exclamation points. LOL!) I owe you guys Busch Garden pics...I have yet to upload those into a post. I owe you guys stitching pictures...I haven't put in a single stitch for weeks. I owe you guys kitchen backsplash and overhead lighting pictures...I haven't told you about that project. *hangs head in shame* I've been playing lots of D3 again...I have a new picture of monkette in her blue whore stockings, if you're interested in seeing it. LOL!!!! They cost me a pretty penny. 4 million gold, to be exact, but because it's a set item, is not dyeable in any way, shape, or form. Ok.... technically, it's supposed to be pants, but that's what they look like as soon as I put them on her. At least it's not a clam digger pajama bottom, which is what it looks

IHSW and Legoland, FL

(Warning: SUPREMELY picture heavy post. You might want to make a big ol' pot for this post. Hehe.) Sorry, my dears!! I'm so late with pictures!! On Monday, I forgot to snap a pic of the little bit I stitched for IHSW on Sunday night, and then time ran away from me on Tuesday. Here we are at midweek already and I'm finally getting some time. IHSW progress first... what little of it anyways. I discovered, after studying more of the chart, that the two smaller butterflies of each three-butterfly set are the same on all four sides. (Wow, that was a convoluted sentence, LOL!) So, the one that I'm working on right now will be exactly the same as the jewel-toned one from the last few posts. Well, minus a bit of fudging here and there. This happens when I've left a small square unstitched and being too lazy to start and stop for one single stitch, go over it with the color I happen to be using at the moment of discovery. I'm usually thinking... it's over 1 on 32
