February IHSW Report

Hi gang!!! How were your hermitting weekends? I know some of you have a long weekend and are probably still stitching your hearts out. YEAH!!!! I'm so looking forward to checking out your pics. :D

CLICK HERE for the hermitters and to check out their blogs.

On my end, I wasn't a good little Hermitter on Saturday. Hubby and I went out to brunch, then stopped in at HomeGoods. Two hours of browsing, gawking, and some purchases later, we went grocery shopping. More browsing and shopping, but that meant we didn't have to step one foot outside the house on Sunday. :D

Friday night, though, saw the completion of the purple phoenix. Isn't he too cute for words?...

... and by Sunday afternoon, I was done with the corner mums at the top of the design...

... which meant I started a new pixie!! The plan is to get her finished before Part 12 of Chinese Garden comes out next month. Any guesses on what she is? ;)

I'll be spending this week catching up on ALL of your blogs... I've fallen waaaay behind again.

ETA: Like Blu, I really hate Blogger's new captha codes. They're near impossible to read, and more than once I've contemplated not leaving a comment cos they're such a pain. I can imagine lots of you feel the same way, so I've done away with it on my blog.

This is a gorgeous project, and I love reading your blog posts about it and admiring the progress pics... Great work with the phoenix and the flowers!

You know, every time you post a picture of CGM I'm surprised how much more there is. It seems like a very fast growing piece.

Is that Sweet Pea? I can't think of any of the pixies with that purple, except for Orchid which you already did...

(Also, the new captha codes are a pain! This is my third try to guess what they are)

Pretty project!!
I was able to stitch a bit this morning and I lost my steam. I had to stop-- I should be able to finish the page I wanted today--tomorrow! :)

Great progress! I love the purple phoenix!

My first guess on your pixie was either Poppy or Sweetpea...

I'm one of the ones with a long weekend today so I'm still stitching till I post later on tonight! :O)

Love CG!! I'm guessing Sweetpea, the color and shapes look right

Ooooo, I love purple phoenix and those mums. The eyelets are to die for (and those blue flowers around the phoenix are gorgeous, Joyce. Everything so beautifully stitched). :)

Great minds and all that, cause I got rid of my captha codes, too. It was driving me crazy. (Come on Blogger, you can do better than that... just sayin') ;)

Though I doubt I will ever have the patience to finish something like this, it is such inspiration to watch you work on it. It is so beautiful.

Your Phoenix is looking great and I love the look of your new pixie, looking forward to seeing more. I'd say you had a great IHSW.
On a side note I don't have the captcha's on my blog and I find the filters are catching any spam, I do find the tiresome on others blogs but don't put people through that commenting on mine.
All of this stitching is so cool (I love the phoenix), and good luck starting the new pixie! Also, I need to get rid of the captcha codes, too- I've been commenting like crazy this afternoon and have had to reload so many of them! About half of them have been totally indecipherable.

Great progress. Your phoenix is gorgeous. Great new start - can't wait to see more. Those codes are definitely annoying.

Wow, your pheonix and mums looks fantastic! It's been amaxing to see the progress of Chinese Mandala! I thought it was Orchid too but remembered you did that one already so I guess Sweet Pea too! =)

Sounds like we all had a bit of a interupted weekend IHSW wise!! Everyone I've read so far has said the same. Great progress though, your phenoix is gorgeous (just like the others).

Yay for doing away with word verification!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maggee said…
I tried moderating my comments even, but they also had to put in that stoopid double-captcha, so I removed comments from my blog. I will just watch what comes! I will post a picture of my hermiting shortly! Hugs!

Beautiful as always, Joyce! I like the purple phoenix, but I think I like the orange and green one better just because it's more defined. Either way, wonderful! I'm super behind on blogs, too, so don't you worry :)

What great progress you made this weekend! That dragon is really wonderful.

My second hermit weekend wasn't very eventful or productive...but good to see that yours was!! Nice progress....off to look at blogs..

Stunning! That is a an understated word when trying to describe the feelings while looking at your Chinese garden.

I too have contemplated taking the word verification off my blog for it's turned "crappy" trying to read it and follow the lettering. It's bad enough I have glasses cause I'm a blind bat...hopefully others will follow.

Beautiful phoenix, and nice work on the mums so you could start a pixie! I don't have a clue which one you've started, I'll just be happy watching it grow. :)

That purple phoenix is very striking! Lovely job :-)

Wow! The purple phoenix is stunning! You're almost done with it. Can't wait for the big finish.

I'm 100% certain that you've started Sweet Pea. I have this pixie on my to-stitch list as well. So what fabric are you stitching her on?

Same here... Google's new word verification annoys me. I've taken it out of my blog as well.

Hugs,
Veronica.
Joyce your stitching is always sooooo awesome - can't wait to see what pixie you are working on. I'm always so grateful that you share your beautiful stitching with us!

Phoenix is very similar to Fire-bird from Russian fairy tales and I like him even more. This bird is a real decoration для design. Although, in this case, the whole garden - solid colors and fairy stitches.

I hermitted too blog post up :0

and a new pixie "tuts" where's my hummie hahahahah and it looks rather like a tulip colour ???? or a scarlet rose ....

Beautiful! That phoenix is amazing and the mums are just beautiful. No idea which pixie but I will be watching your progress. What fabric are you using? Home Goods?! Love that store, but it can be dangerous. I double checked and I had verification on my blog, I took that off as fast as I could.
