March IHSW Report

Hi all!!! How were your hermitting weekends? We had 117 HERMITTERS this month. How exciting!!! Click on the link to check out each other's progress. I know I can't wait to get out there and see what you guys have done this weekend. :D

Now, about mine... I know a lot of you thought I'd have Sweet Pea finished this weekend. Heck, even I thought so but *hangs head in shame* it was not to be. Oh, I started out well enough. I got her wings finished on Friday night, by 10:30pm no less!! Then, I spent the next hour or so stretching and pinning Chinese Garden on foam core board. Now, she'll be ready to go as soon as I see that nice 65% off on Michael's custom frame sale.

Saturday saw me reworking Sweet Pea's arms and legs a little to smooth them out. Stitching began (in the midst of laundry etc), and I got her face and arms done. "Oooooh, this is going to work," I thought to myself. "I just have her hair and flower to do tonight, and then on to her legs and beading tomorrow, and she'll be all done!!!"

*snort*

Well, I started and finished one color in her hair and flower! It took slightly longer than anticipated cos I was half watching two movies with hubby. Then, it was Diablo 3 vids on Youtube time. ;)

Sunday came along and I hermitted. Well and truly hermitted, with *gasp* no stitching done!! I made two dinners and prepped for the week, and we moved my orchids around in the balcony. But by 2pm I was on the couch browsing and messing around on the iPad. I can't remember the last time I sat around and did absolutely nothing for hours! :O

After dinner (beef stew, yum!!) we laid on the couch watching... you guessed it... MORE D3 vids of skills and what nots, on the TV via airplay. LOL!!!! It was awesome!

So, no happy dance yet for poor Sweet Pea...

OH!!! On the Serengeti Mandala front, I'll be printing out Part 1 today, but it'll have to wait as I'm still waiting for the kit and fabbie to get here. ;)

Comments

Well Sweet Pea looks amazing. I love the colours, so pretty. Sounds like you still had a really great weekend, sometimes I too like to just relax and spend some time with the OH.

sweet pea is still groing, that is good, and you had a great weekend, that is the best!!
Even if she's not finished, it still looks like you got a ton of her stitched, and sometimes it's fun to sit around and do nothing for a while! It sounds like a really nice weekend.

Sweet Pea looks beautiful Joyce and like Anne, I love those wings. I KNEW Diablo would get you (which is just fine, cause I think watching D3 vids on youtube actually counts as international hermitting). ;)

(If it doesn't, don't worry. I'm not telling a soul. Doing nothing is ALWAYS a good thing!) lol

Hi Joysze,
This sounds familiar to me! Didn't get much stitching done this weekend because I went to a craft fair where I did some stash enhancement! ;-)
Your fairy looks good to me. Pitty you didn't finish her (the Devil's fault ;-)!
Have a nice stitchy week!

Your stitching is beautiful! What a great idea to get your finished piece ready to frame and wait for the sale.

It's also important to do your homework and research to prepare for Diablo 3! Very good that you and hubby enjoy doing something special together!

You have so much done already!! How do you do it? LOL It took me so long to finish Bluebell :p

Sweet Pea is looking very sweet to me.
And it is nice to do something different together with your Hubby.
I love to see another photo of your balcony, my brother gave me an orchid yesterday, but that one is staying indoors.
We have night frost again, but it is really sunny the rest of the day.

Hugs Yvon.

Every once in a while, you really need to hermit and do nothing! I never changed out of my jammies on Saturday! I was sloth-like but managed to do a lot of stitching. I still need to post! :) SweetPea is looking good!!

She is gorgeous! Thanks for the reminder! I hermitted and got Part 1 DBS redone (which reminds me I need to try and take a better pic) Its a good thing you've got no kit for Serengeti! Your supposed to be doing the butterflies for your Mum..... and then there is poor wee Spring, languishing in some hidden place so you can pretend you only have one wip at a time ;D ROFLMAO
She is looking great and sooooooooo close! I can see the first twitches of a happy dance... Joy

Oh, what a vivid colors on your sweet pea! It's looking great already!

I've miss my March IHSW... I've lost email from one of my very important accounts (temporarily thank goodness but it took me 24 hours to get it back)and my TV died... so I spent my weekend shopping...

ROFL, Joyce. Well, Sweet Pea is looking fab. I still need to get my IHSW update up on my blog.

Hehehe... I can tell you're really excited about D3. By the way, I just read that next year, there will be a new SimCity out. I can't wait... love that game.

Doing nothing is always a good thing! or at least that's what I keep telling myself. If I hadn't been gone last week, I probably would have spent most of Sunday sitting on the deck watching the trees grow or something equally productive. Sweet Pea is looking great - love the colors in this one.

Doing nothing can be good for the soul though. Sweet Pea is looking gorgeous.

Sweet Pea is looking pretty with all those jewel colors of her skirt.

I joined in but forgot to add my link to the list so you had 118 people. Sorry. I just posted about my hermit weekend which was not what I had hoped it would be...

You will notice I did NOT mention watching The Walking Dead marathon ALL DAY Sunday instead of stitching...
